King George Square

Post Card From Oz

3 August 1998

From our Queensland, Australia Trip
17 July to 27 November 1998

THIS MONUMENT stands in front of Brisbane City Hall in downton Brisbane. Tourists like us pause to have their picutre taken with these life size kangaroos. Several other sculptures, ranging from the whimsical to the more serious can be seen in the square. Included is a majestic sculpture of King George V after whom the square is named. The square with its reflecting pools and many benches is a great spot to rest your legs and do some serious people watching on a winter day like the one shown here.
