Post Card From Oz

THERE ARE LOTS of large and interesting insects in and around our house at Emmanuel College. The grasshoppers are large (6 cm +) as you can see from this one on our shrubs. The crickets are a bit smaller, but note the length of the antennae!

There are many large spiders as well, though I guess they have to be large to do battle with crickets and grasshoppers this size. The occasional cockroach makes an appearance, too. I suspect we will hear more from them when the weather gets warmer.
