Introduction for Teachers![]() |
Having a scientist come to your classroom can be a fun and exciting way to incorporate engaging presentations, projects and demonstrations, many of which require hands-on investigations. The goal of Partners In Science is to enrich students’ understanding and experience of science. We think you will find this program beneficial for your students as it works to facilitate students’ learning of science through direct interaction with those who “do” science on a regular basis. Use the links in this section of the web site to explore the backgrounds
and interests of local scientists. There are profiles available for most
of our participants and feel free to contact each of the scientists directly.
Finally, we have provided a series of “Tips for Success” that
are based on our experiences in partnering scientists with local classrooms.
It is a good idea to read through these suggestions prior to your first
visitation.
